Rice dessert with raisins

  • Rice - 1 1/2 cups
  • Coconut milk - 5 cups
  • Salt - 1 1/2 teaspoons
  • Cinnamon sticks - 3 pieces
  • Ginger - 1/4 Teaspoons
  • Carnations - 6 pieces
  • Nutmeg - 1 Pinch
  • Sugar - 1 1/2 cups
  • Raisins - 1/2 cup

1. Rinse the rice and soak in large amounts of water for 2 hours. 2. Twenty minutes before the rice is ready, mix 4 cups of coconut milk, salt, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and nutmeg in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat to medium, cover and boil for 15 minutes. 3. Drain the water from the rice and add to the pan. Stir and bring to a boil over medium heat. 4. Reduce heat to low and cook until rice absorbs liquid. 5. Add sugar and raisins, mix and bring to a boil over moderate heat. Reduce the heat to a weak one and boil for another 15 minutes without stirring. 6. Add 3/4 cup of coconut milk and mix. 7. Increase the fire to medium and cook for about 20 minutes. Remove the spices from the pan. 8. Spoon the rice dessert onto a serving plate. Allow to cool at room temperature before serving. Keep closed in the refrigerator.
