Recipe for Aval Vada

Ingredients:
  • Rice - 1 cup (Aval Poha)
  • Bulb - 1 piece (small)
  • Green pepper - 2 pieces
  • Jira - 1/2 teaspoons
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon
  • Besan - 1-2 Art. Spoons (use as needed)
  • Rice flour - 1-2 Art. Spoons
  • Curry - 2 Pieces (leaves, finely chopped)
  • Salt - 1 piece (to taste)
  • Oil - 1 Piece
Instructions

Prepare 1 cup of Aval Poha (rice flakes). Soak flakes in about 1/2 cup water until soft - about 10 minutes. Prepare the other ingredients - 1 small onion, 2 green peppers, 1/2 teaspoon Jeera (jira), 1 teaspoon grated ginger, 1-2 tablespoons besan (nut flour) and 1-2 tablespoons rice flour. Mix the ingredients in the soaked Aval Poh along with the salt (also add curry leaves and fresh coriander leaves if you have them). To blind small circles. If the mixture is watery, add demon or rice flour. Fry until golden in oil. Can be soaked in Rasam sauce.
