Recipe Sbitene Raspberry

  • Water - 2 liters
  • Raspberry juice - 2 Cups

  • Honey - 2 Cups

Sbiten is one of the most commonDrinks, which was once in Russia. In Moscow taverns drank it hot and cold. The taste of sbiten is very similar to a honey drink. It consisted of: ginger, sage, valerian root, St. John's wort and other herbs. Preparation: Pour water into the pan, boil, then let cool a little. Raspberry juice and honey (natural) is added to the hot water. This mixture is brought to a boil, and about two hours of boiling, stir constantly, do not forget to remove the foam. The resulting beverage is cooled to room temperature, then we add yeast to it, and leave the clock for ten to twelve ferments. When the required time passes, the resulting infusion is poured into a large container (a bottle or barrel), then tightly closed, and for about one month put in a cold place to insist. When the time expires, we pour sbiten into bottles, close the bottles, and put them in a cool place for storage (we fold the bottles horizontally). Serve sbiten in a cold form.
