Recipe for Lenten Pie

  • Water - 1.5 cups
  • Flour - 4 Cups
  • Sugar - 1/2 cup
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoons
  • Vegetable oil - 50 Grams
  • Yeast - 20 Grams (fresh)

How to cook lean pie: 1. We make yeast in warm water, add salt and sugar. We mix it well. 2. In small portions add the sifted flour to the mixture, knead the dough with hands. 3. Add the vegetable oil to the dough and knead the dough until it stops sticking to the hands and bowl. 4. Roll the dough into a bowl, cover with a towel and put in a warm place to go up for 1 hour. After an hour, the dough should be well kneaded and left in a warm place for another half an hour. 5. Roll the dough into a not too thin round cake, cut the edge of the dough with a knife. In the center of the flat cake we fill the filling (I have homemade jam), we form the sides, we decorate the pie with the pigtail from the scraps of the dough. 6. We put lean pie in the oven, preheated to 190 degrees, and bake until ready. Once the pie is beautifully browned - then ready. 7. We remove the finished lean pie from the oven, give it 10 minutes to stand under the towel, after which the pie can be served to the table. That's all, lean pie is ready. Bon Appetit! :)
